The 72nd Marrabel Rodeo will be held on Sunday 4th of October 2009 with timed events starting at 8:30 and bucking stock action from 10.30am.

Since 1935, Marrabel Rodeo Club has held this annual event where proceeds benefit the local community, clubs, charities, and groups. Cricket clubs, pony clubs, Lions Clubs, schools, community groups, and may others raise their much needed funds throught catering, organising, cleaning up and running this exciting event.

The Marrabel Rodeo is the Premier Daytime Rodeo in SA and rated among the top 10 nationally. Approximately 180 of Australia’s top competitors will be competing for prize money in excess of $20,000.

The day promises plenty of action with bull riding, buckjumping, steer wrestling, barrel racing and junior events commencing at 8.30am. The rodeo is organized entirely by volunteers with local community and sporting clubs and groups benefiting from the proceeds since its inception in 1935.

The Rodeo is a great family day out with a country show atmosphere. Free weekend camping, full bar and catering, sideshows and live entertainment will entertain the crowd at the conclusion of the event until late. A recovery breakfast is available on the Labour Day public holiday Monday.

Marrabel is half way between the Barossa Valley and Clare Valley, just 15 minutes north of Kapunda. The huge grounds are available for free Labour Day Long Weekend Camping. Showers are located under the grandstand and toilets are available all over the grounds.

If you've never been to a rodeo, come and have a 'Bucking' good time at Marrabel on the Labour Day Long Weekend.

Admission includes thrills and spills from 8.30am till late afternoon, then the live band will entertain the crowds till late.
